Dorothy Jane Scoville Chase, age 87 of Omaha, NE. Born: January 30, 1935, Kellogg, IA. Died: May 25, 2022, Omaha, NE. Dorothy was born January 30, 1935 in Kellogg, Iowa to R. Mark and Zeta (Pearce) Scoville. Dorothy Grew up in the Kellogg and College Springs, Iowa areas. She graduated from College Springs High School in 1953. Dorothy attended the University of Omaha majoring in History. Her extensive History knowledge helped her win many spirited games of Trivia with her grandchildren. Dorothy married John E. Chase on December 10, 1966. John preceded her in death on September 20. 1988. Dorothy worked at Boyd Elementary for 22 years, before retiring in order to care for her young grandchildren. She was awarded a National Lifetime Membership to the PTA in 1987 for her extensive volunteer work, she was awarded Keystoner of the Month for her community involvement in the Keystone Neighborhood of Omaha, NE. Dorothy was a loving and selfless mother and grandmother. She loved nothing more than spending time with family. She is preceded in death by: husband, John E. Chase, parents, R. Mark and Zeta (Pearce) Scoville, son-in-law, Shane Grooms, brothers, Bill and Bob Scoville and sister, Betty Peterson. Survivers include: son, Mark Chase, Omaha, NE, daughters, Beth (Greg) Dawes, Omaha, Linda Grooms, Princeton, MO, Kerri (Jeff) McWilliams, Omaha, sister, Dixie Allbery, Gretna, NE, sister-in-law, Joann Scoville, Williamsburg, IA, step-daughters, Amy (John) Dempsey, Cindy (Rod) Bilderback, all of Omaha, 10 grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
