Miriam Eleanor Vencil, age 83 of Fort Calhoun, NE Born: January 13, 1934, Auburn, NE Died: November 15, 2017, Blair, NE Preceded in death by: parents, Ivan and Virginia Newton, step-children, Terese Larimore Vencil and Leann Vencil. Survived by: husband, Robert L. Vencil of Fort Calhoun, NE, sons, William (Kimberly) Seipel of Omaha, NE, Brian (Donna Gile) Seipel of Thurman, IA, Mark (Roxi) Seipel of Michigan, Matthew (Kris) of Council Bluffs, IA, daughter, Marlene (Greg) Wait of Omaha, step-daughters, Teresa, LeeAnn, and Sharon, adopted son, Reb (Leigh Ann Anderson) Benitez, brothers, Robert Newton of Bellevue, NE, David Newton of Council Bluffs, IA, sister, Francis Bargen of Lincoln, NE, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Interment: Fort Calhoun Cemetery Memorials Suggested To: The Vencil Family Miriam/Mom was born January 13, 1934 in Auburn, Nebraska to Ivan and Virginia Newton, the second of four children. Mom graduated from Peru Normal High School in 1952 and studied Nursing at St. Catherines Hospital in Omaha receiving her bachelor's degree in Nursing in 1956. While in Nursing School Mom wanted to get married, but the Nuns would have none of that, she would have to wait until she finished Nursing School. Mom married my father William Seipel in 1956, 4 boys were born of this union, William Jr, Brian, Mark and Matt. Mom remarried in the spring of 1968 to Robert L. Vencil who had 3 daughters, Teresa, LeeAnn, and Sharon. Bob and Mom had a daughter Marlene Vencil Wait. In later years Mom and Bob raised a grandson Reb as a son. So in total Mom and Bob raised 9 kids quite a large family of yours, mine and ours. Mom and Bob moved to Ralston Nebraska for several years, then to Plattsmouth, then Nebraska City and finally Fort Calhoun. They loved their acreage in Fort Calhoun with a horse, dogs and cats, and a huge garden. They loved the solitude, nature and gardening. Mom continued to work as a Nurse through the years. Mom retired from Nursing at 66 from the Fort Calhoun care facility, enjoying several years of retirement. Mom and Bob enjoyed many trips to Wyoming, Colorado and South Dakota.
